While studying the exercises in book 1 (beats) & book 2 (fills) you can struggle with the notes. Besides learning to play the drums itself, improving your reading skills can be a different cup of tea.
Once every year I would like to give you an update, as in a summary of the last year, especially for all drum teachers that are using the books, the audio or the app. Therefor, one year after launching the books it is time for the once-a-year-update-newsletter.

Recently, the free 360DRUMSbook app has been updated and its new feature is one every drummer dreams of. Probably you are quite familiar with your metronome, now in this new version, the 360DRUMSbook app has a special metronome that brings you the drumless band tracks for studying at slow speed (40-65bpm). Furthermore, you can use the 12 special metronomes that allow you to study in even and triplet feel with the click on:
Weekly, on every Sunday, a new podcast episode (vodcast) will be launched to inspire you with exercises taken from the books. It is hard to explain all details in just a few words. Unfortunately, it appeared impossible for me. Therefor, I made 11 short inspirational movie clips to explain how the books can be used for:
- the first lesson of a new student in your drum school
- a beginner level student
- an intermediate level student
- an advanced level student
I hope this gives you some insight and a better feel and touch with these books before you decide to purchase them.
You may wonder what’s in the books. The list below gives you an overview of all the chapters (topics) that are handled extensively. You can see it starts with the basics of rock drumming, but the student soon develops a wide set of tools to become a skilled pop drummer.
At this moment the new 360drums app is available in the Google Play Store and you can download it for free. Within some days it will find its place in the iTunes App Store too. The app will grow during the coming months. More and more features will be added as soon as possible.
